Swedish crime prize for 2009 to Roslund Hellstrom!

Svenska Deckarakademin announced on November 28 that the prize for best Swedish crime fiction novel for 2009 was awarded to Anders Roslund & Börge Hellström for their novel Tre sekunder (Three seconds).

Nominated for the award this year were Ingrid Hedström: Flickorna i Villette, Tove Klackenberg: Dömd på förhand, Håkan Nesser: Maskarna på Carmine Street, and Veronica von Schenck: Kretsen.

The prize for best crime fiction debut novel was awarded Olle Lönnaeus for Det som ska sonas (Hard to translate: What should be purged?).

Hello!

Tre sekunder is the fifth novel by Roslund/Hellström, and for now we only have the first one (Odjuret, The beast) translated into French. I haven’t read it… yet.

Thanks to the Deckarakademi I’ve recently discovered Ingrid Hedström, and I’m also interested by Lönnaeus’ book (BTW “sona” means to expiate).
