In the hands of the right film director (He/She would have to be daring, creative and fearless), this could make a remarkable film.

The late actor David Rappaport might have been ideal as Piccoline.

But there certainly must be a fine current british actor of dwarf/midget stature who could carry the role.

And what a role it would be!

In his prime, Ken Russell would have been a good directorial candidate.

Perhaps Ridley Scott or Paul Verhoeven could be up to the task today(?).
Maybe even Guillermo Del Toro? (Pan’s Labyrinth was a masterpiece).

I feel it is only a matter of time before someone attempts to film this incredible book.

I just hope whomever does it, is up to the task.

I really want to try this book but for some reason there is a 3 week waiting list on Amazon UK for it. The book seems harder to get hold of over her. After reading your review, I shall persevere!

I’m curious and hope someone will answer me.I saw another book by anne Holt,the cover said Fear Not Air Express.Then, a wite up I read said there was also a story in it by Camilla Lackberg,& Jo Nesbo?Is there 2 different titles,It,also said this was her 1st. case.This is very confusing[to me]I want Fear Not,her 4th book,I don’t want it if its short stories or her 1st.book.So? If anyones read it,etc.can help me out,I’d appreciate it.Thanks,Sharon

Re: MERCY. Having just finished THE KEEPER OF LOST CASES, I turned to this site for more information about the author. I find ecstatic praise for the writing, and haven’t a clue (no pun) as to what the book is about. I guess I am on my own. Jussi Adler-Olsen is a top flight writer with no doubt a great translator.
